The music scene is home to countless aspiring artists and established musicians, all vying for a spot in the limelight. Armed with big dreams and highly fueled by their deep-seated love for the craft, they are going all-out in establishing a name in an industry known for its cut-throat nature. However, given this saturation, standing out has proven challenging and new entrants, in particular, have to make sure that they can bring value to the table if they wish to stay afloat amid a sea of competition. Amanda Rakel, an emerging force in the Pop EDM scene, has succeeded in setting herself apart, thanks to her distinctive discography and approach to capturing life experiences into songs.
The voice behind the phenomenal track “Master of My Heart,” Amanda Rakel is a Danish-Swedish singer-songwriter originally hailing from Germany. She moved to Switzerland with her family, where she attended an international school with a comprehensive musical program and expanded her skills by learning how to play several instruments.
From the get-go, Amanda Rakel has always had an affinity for music. Growing up, she was exposed to the hits of ABBA, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, and Michael Jackson because of a mother who liked to sing along to the radio while driving her kids to and from school. Her interest in the craft grew even deeper in the years she was involved in a choir and enrolled in a music program, but it would take some time before she realized her talent lay in writing lyrics and singing.
At the age of 19, Amanda Rakel became intimately privy to the struggles those suffering from mental health issues face. Diagnosed and hospitalized for depression, she ended up turning to the comfort provided by words to cope, writing many long journal entries during her stay at the clinic. Eventually, she delved into poetry, a monumental decision that would mark the beginning of a journey toward the forefront of the music scene.
In writing poems to express herself, Amanda Rakel often created melodies to accompany her compositions. Soon enough, she started voice recording songs, two of which were “Sweet Tongues” and “Into My Lungs.” But, it was not until the multitalented figure moved to Copenhagen that she would go all-out in pursuing a career in the field.
Since 2015, Amanda Rakel has showcased not only her vocals but also her skills at turning real-life experiences into lyrics and melodies. Today, she’s gaining a foothold in the industry because of her artistry and the extent to which she brings authenticity into the equation. Highly passionate about combining honest lyrics with pop-EDM productions, she has managed to capture the attention of listeners from across the globe due to her emphasis on being real and drawing inspiration from situations she’s experienced first-hand.
So far, Amanda Rakel has released multiple standout tracks and an EP that spoke of her commitment to providing listeners with quality music. In the future, she plans to expand her discography and connect with more listeners and, in the process, demonstrate her potential as a future household name.
Currently, Amanda is working on several new projects involving The FifthGuys and Grammy Nominated Producer, Stonebridge. Slated for release later this summer, expect to be moved by more intense vocals surrounded by uplifting production, bringing to life the soul of this talented artist.
