The advent of digital technology has made it possible for go-getters from all walks of life to take a shot at translating their personal visions into reality. Decades ago, it would take earning a Bachelor’s degree and landing a nine-to-five job to gain some considerable progress toward the fruition of one’s goal. However, thanks to the growing prominence of online-based platforms and digital tools, self-starters have managed to rise through the ranks and secure a spot at the forefront of their target fields. Anita Tebo Kenosi, the passion-fueled jet setter at the helm of the Youtube channel “Happy Muncher Traveler: Travel, Lifestyle, Food Vlogs,” is among those who are currently capitalizing on the reach and power of digital technology. Through her travel-focused platform, she is not only pursuing her passion but is also inviting others to join the ride, giving them a glimpse of the world.
A young upcoming Botswana Youtuber, Anita Tebo Kenosi, had a booming career that started in August 2021. Unfortunately, her business closed because of COVID-19, a major hurdle that would have stumped countless people. Despite the hiccup, the highly driven personality decided to move forward and bank on her love for food to embark on a new journey. “I decided to travel the world to try different cuisines and learn more about different cultures,” she shared. “I want to show the world’s beauty.”
The bold move to step foot on foreign soil and get to know its people, taste its food and love all it has to offer didn’t come without its fair share of challenges. Apart from traveling expenses, canceled or delayed flights, and issues with currency exchanges, Anita Tebo Kenosi also had to contend with the implications of a new normal in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak. From stressful checking-in procedures to COVID-19 tests, the Youtuber had to pass through a series of hoops successfully before she would be able to hop on the plane for her next destination.
Right now, the traveler continues to explore different countries, intending to share with her followers the most exciting food to try, restaurants to visit, and beautiful destinations to see. So far, her channel has given a spotlight to food in Botswana, the nightlife in Johannesburg, the beaches in Kenya, and the wonders of the Philippines.
“I haven’t traveled to most countries, but the one I fell in love with is Kenya. Nairobi, the capital, is a busy hub of people that have come together from all walks of life,” said Anita Tebo Kenosi. “What I love most about Kenya’s coastal side are the white beaches, swinging palms, cyan seas, and the bountiful inland wildlife. In Kenya, animals rule and most game reserves and parks have no borders or boundaries.”
In the coming months, the high-spirited figure intends to expand her channel and share her amazing travels with a broader audience. In the process, she hopes to inspire people of color all over the globe to travel the world and live outside their comfort zone.
