Bishop Amere J May, Sr.: A Beacon for Those Who Have Struggled to Win

Astute, influential, prolific, and dominant are a few words that the world uses to describe Amere May Sr., but the words he most wants to be known by are “husband, father, son, brother, and friend.” His dynamic and charismatic style that goes well with his size has captivated the hearts of many of his audiences, and his life experiences have shaped and cultivated his unique call to the ministry of reconciliation.

In 2016, Bishop Amere J May, Sr., founded ReVamp Covenant Churches and Ministries (RCCM), a non-denominational organization that serves many diverse ministries. His desire and calling is to strengthen and edify individual pastors across the world with care and compassion to address the significant personal deficits of building and sustaining a church and the membership.

Bishop May is a genuine end-time preacher. He is a highly sought-after prophet of God sent into various regions and nations to positively affect the spirit and minds of the people of God. He has also been commissioned globally to the body of Christ.

Amere J. May Sr. was born the eldest son of Walter Simpson and Christine Cunningham-Simpson. Taller and more athletic than most, Amere got hooked on basketball early in childhood. Being raised in South Haven, MI, his passion for the sport led him to garner national attention as a top high school basketball player. After graduating high school, he accepted an athletic scholarship to Central Michigan and Shaw University, where he pursued his love of basketball. After participating in the 1997 NBA Draft, he finished his career overseas.

With his athletic experience and now being bishop ministering to different church leaders, he has a distinct call to guide athletes and individuals who have struggled to win after a loss. And as he goes into various places in strengthening and inspiring more and more people, he is looking at inspiring more athletes and entrepreneurs along the way.

“I lived my story, and I know what it means to suffer from a loss and still be a champion,” says the dynamic Bishop.

In addition to his congregation, his family is his source of motivation in walking the path of inspiring people for God.

A few years from now, he envisions himself becoming one of the world’s leading voices that brings a change in individuals’ lives. He envisions becoming one of the top motivational speakers traveling the world.

“I want people to take the tools and principles that I’ve implemented that will allow them to overcome grief, pain, and every negative thing that’s occurred in their life,” says the dynamic man of God.

Bishop Amere J May, Sr.’s life of integrity and authentic gifting has caused many great men and women of God to ask for his help across the nation. In addition, his unique gifts and calling have enabled him to be highlighted on multiple Christian TV networks, such as the worldwide T.C.T, The Word, and Detroit’s Impact.  As a prolific writer, he has also penned a collection of books, including Overcoming Frustration, which has blessed many across this country and Forgive Your Fathers, which has also ministered to countless lives across the country.
