The city of Indianapolis was abuzz on May 6th as three of the biggest names in women’s basketball arrived alongside NFL legend Peyton Manning and media exec Jamie Horowitz for the premiere of Full Court Press, the latest docuseries from Omaha Productions.

Full Court Press documents the incredible journeys of collegiate women’s basketball stars Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso, and Kiki Rice during the historic 2023-2024 NCAA season. It also marks a significant moment in the portrayal of women’s sports on mainstream media.

Full Court Press was produced by Omaha Productions, Words + Pictures, and ESPN. It is set to air on May 11th and 12th on ABC and stream on ESPN+.

The Stars of the Show

The premiere of Full Court Press was a star-studded event, with appearances from the athletes themselves—Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso, and Kiki Rice—alongside notable figures such as Peyton Manning and coaches from the athletes’ universities.

The docuseries, which dives deep into the personal and professional lives of these  athletes, will give fans a front-row seat to the highs and lows that come with competing at the elite level of women’s college basketball. Similar to Omaha Productions’ hit Netflix docuseries Quarterback, Full Court Press is a fly-on-the-wall-style series that documents each player’s challenges on the court, at home, at school, and beyond.

“I think the biggest thing is you can see what we do outside of basketball,” said Caitlin Clark during an interview about Full Court Press. “You’re getting to see a lot of things that maybe had never been shown before, conversations that maybe people didn’t know we had, or interactions with family members, coaches, teammates, or fans…or how you’re prepping for certain games, especially throughout March Madness. So yeah, it’s super cool.”

The docuseries follows each player through their entire basketball season and culminates in the historic NCAA final between Iowa and South Carolina, the most-watched college basketball game ever. Caitlin Clark and Kamilla Cardoso, both featured in Full Court Press, clashed in this thrilling final, ensuring an exciting finale to the series.

The Impact of Peyton Manning and Jamie Horowitz

At the helm of this innovative project are Omaha Productions co-founders Peyton Manning and Jamie Horowitz. Both were heavily involved in the production of Full Court Press and were thrilled with the success of Monday’s premiere.

Jamie Horowitz, President of Omaha Productions, has extensive experience in sports media that was crucial to the development of Full Court Press. Known for his transformative impact on daily sports programming, Horowitz was responsible for developing iconic shows like First Take, Undisputed, and SportsNation as well as hit docuseries like DAZN’s 40 Days and One Night. Horowitz’s understanding of modern audiences and the docuseries format helped showrunners capture the essence of what it means to be an elite female athlete in a way that appeals to more than just women’s basketball fans.

Peyton Manning, who has grown into the role of producer with flying colors, conceived of the show and acted as a liaison for the players. An athlete himself, Manning was personally involved in ensuring that the athletes got the support they needed and had some creative control over their stories.

“Oh yeah, [Peyton] was the man,” said Caitlin Clark. “He pitched it to me and I’m actually an Executive Producer on the show. So I watched it, I cut out stuff, I added some stuff. But yeah, Peyton was very involved.”

Since it was founded in 2020, Omaha Productions has consistently delivered content that puts athletes first and allows them to tell their own stories. Full Court Press is a continuation of the company’s commitment to producing high-quality, engaging content that not only entertains audiences but also empowers athletes and promotes equity in the world of sports.

“Full Court Press is the exact type of content we like to produce at Omaha Productions,” said Jamie Horowitz. “It celebrates amazing athletes and gives sports fans a window into what it takes to succeed. We were lucky to partner with Caitlin, Kamila, and Kiki – they are gifted players and they gave us incredible access to their lives this season.”

A Bump to Women’s Basketball

Full Court Press celebrates the individual achievements of its subjects, but it’s also helping continue the moment of women’s basketball as a sport.

As the stars descended on the Tobias Theater for the premiere, Caitlin Clark noted just how important it was to have support for women’s basketball pouring in from so many athletes and media personalities.

“There’s always women’s basketball legends supporting women’s basketball. That’s never been the issue,” Clark said. “[When] it’s football players, men’s basketball players, golfers, swimmers…or even just public figures that are now supporting women’s basketball, that’s the coolest thing.”

As Caitlin Clark and Kamilla Cardoso begin their new lives in the WNBA, Full Court Press will certainly help continue their momentum and fillmore arena seats.

Where to Watch and Stream Full Court Press

The premiere of Full Court Press in Indianapolis was a major success for Omaha Productions and a heartfelt reunion for players and coaches following one of the intense NCAA women’s basketball seasons on record.

The docuseries will be broadcast to a wide audience across two days, airing on May 11th and 12th on ABC. It will be available to stream immediately after on ESPN+.

While the reviews haven’t hit the press yet, Caitlin Clark has shared her thoughts on the show with fans:

“I honestly wish there were more episodes because there’s so much amazing content that we

captured. I can’t give away too much, but it’s really good.”
