DMTS’ Lifelong Commitment to Entertainment, Entrepreneurship, and Youth Development

Experiences sometimes don’t kill a man but instead make and shape him in the direction he ought to go. Born Deivone Tanksley, known in public circles as DMTS, the serial entrepreneur and community leader, professional life, pain and risks throughout a childhood that was nothing but torrid. Coming from a dangerous neighborhood and growing up in the midst of crime, Deivone was in and out of jail as a teenager, but luckily, he caught a break and today, through his company, DMTS, he is committed to giving back to his community. He is the founder of New Britain Legacies, a youth-focused basketball mentoring program, and DMTS Network, an entertainment platform for artists and creators. He is also the owner of “My wife didn’t cook restaurant.” In 2019, Dmts ran for Mayor to help bring change to his community. 

Through DMTS Network, an independent publishing company, Deivone is leveraging his creative skills to write and produce music, emphasizing young people who are endangered in underserved communities and people of color; Deivone is taking it to the next level.

With DMTS, Deivone plans to change the status quo and continue to take people out of their current situation into an environment where they can thrive, explore the possibilities available to them and be who they ought to be and contribute immensely to society. His goal is to provide actual words of knowledge and wisdom through his books and smooth beats. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn’t learn something new. Deivone reaches every goal that he sets and continues his rise to success.

“My story is what makes everything I do unique! Now I’m on a life mission to change the world little by little. Using all my platforms to bring change and build economic development.” He explained. 

In addition to a long list of initiatives and ideas to combat social vices and abuse, DMTs have contributed a fair share to scholarship, as an author of two books, “A mother’s pain” and “Pain, Guilt & Success.” He is also regarded as one of the most influential black men in CT. In addition to being a recipient of the “Youth Tomorrow’s” award from the NAACP in 2019. 

Undoubtedly, DMTS has proven himself to be an entrepreneur in the true sense with a knack for improving lives and numerous relationships with correctional facilities officers who continue to facilitate the many initiatives of DMTS. 

Fresh from releasing his latest E.P., “From Poverty 2 Prodigy,” DMTS has no plans of slowing down on his mission and five years from now, he hopes to be in a position to influence the mindset of young boys and girls, black and white all over the world. With the growing followers he has on Instagram, it’s clear that he’s on his way there. 

“[I want to become] so influential and inspiring that I’m awarded the Nobel prize,” he explained. “Also growing all my businesses and nonprofits to billion-dollar companies then donating millions of dollars to bettering the lives of others, help to end hunger and investing into a new world of young entrepreneurs,” he concludes.
