Dr. Funk and the Mind Body & Soul Dominate the Independent Music Charts with Style and Finesse

Music can be instrumental towards healing. This magnificent art form has the capacity to attune the mind, body, and soul, which is a massively important thing these days in the face of a global pandemic. Dr. Funk and the Mind Body & Soul band are doing all of that and more in the midst of a global pandemic where live performances have become naught; they continue to dominate the Independent Music Network Charts throughout the winter season.

Dr. Funk and the Mind Body & Soul band recently released their single called Love Is to a resoundingly positive reception topping the charts on the week of January 26 to February 1 this year. Their other singles include Just a Matter of Time and Do It Right, both of which are also certified chart-toppers in their own right.

The acclaimed music group received the 2020 Entertainer of the Year and Video of the Year awards from the Independent Music Network Awards. Dr. Funk and the Mind Body & Soul band have garnered massive success these past few months, and they’re not looking to slow down any time soon.

With Dr. Funk at the helm of the music group, their success has been imminent as his musical talent and prowess are put on full display. As a native of Queens, New York, he grew up in a musically inclined family, allowing him to learn how to play various instruments at such a young age. This included the piano, drums, bass, cello, and many more. Dr. Funk has had the opportunity of playing in other bands.

He has also managed to go on tour with The English Beat, allowing him to gain a breadth of experience and a firsthand knowledge of what it takes to tour around the world. Dr. Funk is considered by his collaborators as one of the most gifted reggae drummers in the industry, and he has shown the world that his talents know no bounds.

The Mind Body & Soul band comprises some of the music industry’s most gifted instrumentalists coming together to create harmonious music that will heal the souls of fans everywhere. Dr. Funk leads the band alongside his brother Power Morcillo who plays guitar. The siblings made sure that they only recruit the best of the best to guarantee the quality of their songs and live performances.

The band eventually pieced itself together as the right people started to come along. In 2012, saxophone player Ray Zepeda was the first to join the band. He then introduced Dr. Funk and Power to Ricky Lucchese, who plays the trombone, Brent Williams for the trumpet, Farid Zariff on percussion, Cesareo Garasa and Lamar Brooks alternately playing the drums, and Eric Barefield, who plays the keyboard.

Together, they are Dr. Funk and the Mind Body & Soul band, bringing a positive vibe no matter where they perform. The group’s electrifying presence is enough to inspire and motivate audiences to just live in the moment and enjoy life to the fullest. The group expresses that one of the most rewarding experiences of their careers comes in seeing the audience dance, laugh, and get groovy on the dance floor.

In the near future, Dr. Funk envisions the continued success of his esteemed music group. He hopes that they can consistently impact the lives of countless people who turn to music for healing and positivity, not just for entertainment.

Mind Body & Soul are preparing for their upcoming show at CLUB BAHIA, 11:30 on June 24, 2021 at Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Fans of the band who wish to see them perform live should take this chance to come to their show.
