Jesus Presinal, best known as JP, is a dancer and a creative director based in New York City. He started to pick up dancing at a young age; his inspiration emanated from many distinguished and celebrated dancers and artists. Despite not getting the support of his Dominican family for his craft, JP broke through his barriers and made a name for himself through his love for dance and talent for photography.
JP kicked off his career in the humblest of ways by performing on the streets of New York—a courageous move to indicate that he is on a meaningful journey to make his dreams of being a performer come true, work with huge names, and meet all those who have inspired him throughout his dancing journey. It didn’t take long for JP and his immense talent to get recognized as he landed a contract with a talent agency and had his first break. Later on, he joined the Nets Team Hype, the certified dance group for the Brooklyn Nets, an NBA team. This event was a big deal for JP, and it certainly opened many doors for him.
In next to no time, the talented dancer was acquiring gigs left and right, even roping in the chance to dance alongside Madonna and Jennifer Lopez. Ultimately, JP started appearing in numerous music videos as a featured dancer, traveled all around Europe by performing on a luxury cruise liner, and things were looking better than ever.
A shoulder injury that he suffered while training halted his dancing advancement for a while, and it was during this time, he was picked up by Nikon, given a camera and a social media project that he didn’t fathom would boom the way it did. Discovering a new flair for photography, JP coined a new style of taking photographs that fused well with his love for dancing; he called it the Freeze Frame Movement Project. Finding the perfect mix of artistry between the art of movement and the art photography, as he quoted, is a vision that JP wishes to impart to the world. In only a short period, his ingenious work made ripples throughout Instagram and TikTok, reaping in several followers who can’t get enough of his work.
As an established professional dancer and a remarkable photographer, JP continuously inspires a plethora of people worldwide. He is also a content creator for RedBull. Of course, with fame comes several setbacks, including having to ward off fake accounts that repost his work throughout the internet, but this doesn’t faze JP in the least as he carries on with his passion.
Achieving his dreams has placed JP in a prominent position; what-ifs became things of the past, and the people he looked up to back then became dear friends with whom he shares constant memories. JP wishes to continue motivating people with his talent, give back to the art that made him who he is today and inspire people who aspire to be creatives like him.
