Winston Churchill said, “There is something about the outside of a horse, that is good for the inside of a man,” and this statement rings true from when human beings domesticated horses nearly 5,500 years ago. People have often credited the evolution and progress of mankind to the domestication of horses, resulting in the development of industry as well as the development of communication through the Pony Express, where people rode horses to deliver mail.
Executive Coach Patricia Arboleda saw the opportunity within the post-pandemic climate to position this valuable research to positively impact new executives from all walks of life. It is predicted that by the end of 2027 half of the population will be independent workers or reborn entrepreneurs. People who are no longer prepared to surrender to the lost potential of their ambition to work. Patricia understands the disruptive trend in the labor market, as well as the fact that people are beginning to prioritize their own goals over a guaranteed paycheck. With this development in mind, new leaders will need unique skills to better establish their teams and accelerate their organizational growth.
Patricia and her team developed the BOSS to Coach: Leadership Coaching With Horses program with the purpose of providing participants with the skills they need to succeed in today’s challenging environments. As a result, participants will gain an understanding of the skills and capabilities required to develop, lead, and inspire their teams. During this program, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of mindset, innovation, collaboration, communication, EQ, and all these aspects of business management that are examined and refined within a healthy in-person environment.
Why Coaching with Horses?
As a certified leadership coach with horses, Patricia has designed her course to provide people and horses with powerful and effective interactions, using coaching, team building, individual reflection, and peer feedback.
Those who attend will be equipped with tools to implement change, connect teams, as well as improved communication skills. As a result of the program, participants have reported that they have improved their emotional intelligence, gained greater clarity, and are better able to identify their strengths in difficult situations, which are major tools to the majority of executives.
Many companies across the globe attend this workshop specifically for team building and team aligning. Since thousands of companies around the world have embraced hybrid or complete remote work models, top executives will focus on refining their employees’ interpersonal skills and team building as they assimilate back into an in-person work environment.
Aside from the physical horsepower, many scholars have examined the emotional transfer displayed between humans and horses that has been compared to human emotional cues that are similar to the interaction between humans and dogs. Horses live in a social herd by nature and have developed great social and cognitive abilities as herd animals. Notably horses have been documented in countless studies that have demonstrated active roles in therapy as well as human growth. As well as being able to discern whether a person is attending to their specific needs, horses are also capable of deciding which type of food to request and where from. By observing the way a horse responds to our requests and directions, we can learn how to communicate more effectively, concentrating on how we say things rather than just what we say.
Horses are rewarded by leaders who show confidence, provide clear direction, and act authentically. It is by their presence that we can recognize and control our fears as well as our emotions. Using horses as a tool for leadership development creates faster learning, provides transformative insights, and develops leadership skills applicable to today’s business environment.
The program is delivered at the beautiful premises of The Horse Club, an equestrian center in Miami that celebrates a love story every day. The center is located far enough to experience the outdoors and close enough to get there fast!
For horses’ entertainment, they have a big and a small arena, as well as 4 pastures full of shade and fresh grass so they can play in the shade as well. The staff at the center take good care of the horses so you are able to have a unique experience when you visit and have a better companion to learn with.
