Jennifer Lopez has received accolades for using gender-neutral pronouns to introduce her daughter, Emme.

Emme, who J.Lo shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony and their twin brother Max, is a singer in her own right and has even performed on stage with their famous mother.

They initially demonstrated their vocal prowess by duetting on the song ‘Limitless’ during Jennifer Lopez’s “It’s My Party” tour in 2019; Emme joined their mother on stage at the 2020 Super Bowl, which was widely featured in Jennifer Lopez’s new Netflix documentary, Halftime.

Jennifer Lopez welcomed Emme to the stage during one of her most recent duets this past weekend at the LA Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala in LA.

The 52-year-old singer requested her 14-year-old daughter Emme Maribel to join her onstage at one point during her musical routine. However, she used the pronouns “they” and “them” several times when introducing herself to her supporters.

“I ask them to sing with me all the time, but they won’t. So this is a very special occasion. They are very, very busy. Booked. And pricey! It costs me when they come out,” J.Lo joked.

Singer/actress/dancer J.Lo sweetly continued: “But they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favorite duet partner of all time. So if you will indulge me.”

Emem then took the stage with a rainbow-beamed microphone and began singing Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA,” and the “Let’s Get Loud” entrance.

“Last night…” J.Lo captioned a series of adorable photos of the couple performing.

J.Lo’s fans praised her for using her child’s pronouns respectfully.

Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Marc Anthony is the father of Muiz. Max, Emme’s fraternal twin, is Lopez and Anthony’s other kid. Both parents expressed their pride in their child following Muiz’s performance at the Super Bowl halftime show

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Blue Diamond Gala raised a record $3.6 million for LADF, which promotes healthcare, education, homelessness, and social justice for Los Angeles people.
