After building overwhelming anticipation among her followers on social media, Sydney-based singer songwriter Jeyaia has finally decided to release her original works into the music industry. The incredible journey to where she finds unconditional love within herself is now encapsulated on Jeyaia’s debut single “Rising,” a soul-stirring song of self-awakening and the transformational process that comes with personal growth.
The song tells the narrative of liberating oneself from the shackles of conditional love and discovering the reality that all a person desires may be found within the self. “Whenever we seek anything outside of ourselves, it implies we are incomplete within. When we realize the truth of all that we are, this is true self love. This is freedom,” Jeyaia explained.
As a testament to its growing popularity, there are now three unique remixes available for “Rising.” The Stonebridge Remix, The Fifth Guys and Coffee Shop Remix, and the Going Deeper Remix managed to generate over 14,000 listens on Spotify alone. Additionally, Jeyaia has been progressively amassing a considerable number of followers on YouTube since the release of the “Rising” music video last December.
“Rising” spontaneously originated during a casual jam with musical genius Otis James. The producer experimented with neo-soul piano chords when the melody and lyrics channeled effortlessly through Jeyaia. With how both became bigger versions of themselves through the process of creating the song, Jeyaia immediately knew it was going to be her debut single.
A line from the song is a reminder of how the phoenix rises from the ashes and how the ashes are formed from the fire burning through the self. It delivers the message of how seeing through the eyes of the higher self with divine strength can help a person transmute old to the new and ultimately challenge the soul to grow and evolve.

Jeyaia’s life journey has been significantly influenced by music, having been born into a very musical household. Her childhood consisted of traveling to gigs with both musician parents performing in a blues band. Her holidays are spent with grandparents listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Bing Crosby on vinyl during Christmas and singing along with the family during car rides on long road trips during summer.
