This is why Karen Bassily, a twenty-year-old fitness model from Cairo, believes that her confidence is one of the most important characteristics that can help her achieve success.
When the young model first moved from Egypt to America in 2011, she did not know how to speak the language. However, she did not let it dampen her spirits. Through hard work and determination, she learned English and can now speak it fluently. In fact, English is not the only language that she is well-versed in; she can also fluently speak Arabic and French and knows a little bit of Spanish.
She considers modeling to be one of her greatest passions. As a young girl, what motivated her to pursue a career in modeling was browsing fashion magazines and watching her favorite TV show, America’s Next Top Model. The magazines and the show taught her a lot and helped give her an insight into the multifaceted world of modeling.
This young woman of many talents is not just a model. She is an equestrian as well as a gymnast that can do contortions. Her other hobbies include skateboarding, horseback riding, belly dancing, and singing. All of these skills and talents contribute positively to her career as these have helped her take on different kinds of projects of varying nature.
What sets her apart is her advocacy for body positivity and self-love. She is a very confident person and is incredibly proud of her own body. For her, the trick to having healthy self-esteem is making sure she never compares herself to other people. She makes sure to remind her followers about this important message through her posts on her social media accounts.
Another important quality that she has is humility. For her, being confident in oneself does not equate to bringing others down, which is why being humble is just as equally valuable to her. She considers herself to be a very friendly and social person who is able to get along with pretty much anyone because of the values that she possesses.
Careerwise, Karen Bassily has done a lot of photoshoots and has even appeared on the covers of different magazines. She was also featured in a music video that was aired on TV in Egypt.
Her plans and goals for the future include a long-term career in modeling, more specifically, to be able to walk down the runways of prestigious fashion shows. She also aims to see herself on TV as a renowned actor or TV personality and possibly build a career around that.
Currently, Karen resides in Orange County in California, and she continues to expand her network with the hope of building her very own brand soon.
