Keeping Up With Chelsea Makela! As She Opens Chelsea Make LA Productions!

Who does she work with? Who does she work for? Who does she manage? What kind of talent does she take under her wing?  What is a literary department Head? Who is her mentor? All these questions surface every time Chelsea Makela’s name is mentioned. While Entrepreneurship is at an all-time high in business, Executives are now juggling roles, in front of the screen and behind the scenes. Although Chelsea Makela makes it look easy, the work is more intense than what the public’s eye can get a grip on.

After nineteen years of working in the city of dreamers, it didn’t take much time until Chelsea Makela became known as one of the Go-To managers to advance clients at every stage of their careers. Born in the Bay, and matured in LA, Chelsea makes it very clear that her heart is solely in Los Angeles. Being half Finnish and half Latin, and now the youngest Executive at Discover Management, as the Head of the Literary Department. Eventually, she developed and opened under the mentorship of owner Debra Lynn Findon. Chelsea personally can identify with talent, as she once was an actress appearing on Nickelodeon, AspireTV, AFI Women in Film and BET. Chelsea also has filmed with Paramount/MTV’ in their summer hit comedy the Wayans’ “Dance Flick.” At a young age, Chelsea was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer. But as a cancer survivor, Chelsea continued pursuing her dreams, goals, and working multiple roles in her life. “Early in life, I realized that you’re not promised tomorrow,” says Chelsea live on Choose your path interview with Sherontelle.

When it comes to the literary department, Chelsea embarked on not only a role but a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go after her dream. The Literary Department works to build sustaining, long-lasting relationships with creatives, producers, and writers. Chelsea spends her days developing projects, taking meetings to collaborate, going through query letters to identify literary talent and requesting sample chapters or complete manuscripts from promising authors. From Actors, singer’s producers and authors, Chelsea has contended to bring exposure to brands and assist with developing their skills with a unique method. 

Chelsea has a multi-facet amount of award-winning clients that she works with, develops and continues to team with daily when working with Discover. Most of the clients Chelsea has worked with are familiar such as well-known South American sensation now living in the US due to film a lead in a pilot in early 2022:  Talita Real(actress, singer & celebrity), co-writer & literary client Ashlei Foushee, influencer, comedian Paul Vato (MADtv), award-winning writer Jacob Seidman, up & coming TV/Film actor ( 6 projects to be released in 2022)  Steph Martinez , award-winning writer Julie Phillips, actor & comedian Daniel Monaco (Fresh off the Boat, Hulu’s Casual, Grace & Frankie), touring singer, off-Broadway actor & celebrity coach Price Troche, National Touring Broadway & off-Broadway singer, dancer & actor, & TV actor Troy Hussmann (Bel-Air), Mary McBain (award-winning creator) 

 To further spread her goals, Chelsea recently announced her newest venture as Owner and CEO of Make LA Productions. After launching in late November, she is open to development, collaboration, new shows. Currently, she’s interested in meeting with collaborators and investors for future projects and ideas. Make LA Prod. aims to tell stories that inspire the imagination, heart and mind while telling stories that wake the human soul.
