Lisa Diane Kastner Releases New Novel CURE and Receives Praise from Prolific Writers

Kali Metis, most widely known as Lisa DIane Kastner, has made headlines after the release of her latest novel, CURE, continues to gain praise from prolific writers and her many readers globally.

Lisa is the founder and executive editor of Running Wild Press which has been honored with two best of 2019 and two best of 2020 books according to Kirkus Reviews, as well as several starred reviews and additional acclaim. The prolific writer was featured in Forbes and Yahoo Finance’s Top Ten Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2021. She was also nominated to Forbes Next 1,000, a list of American self-funded entrepreneurs who continue to strive during the most challenging times of COVID. In addition, New York Weekly included Lisa in the Top Ten Females to Watch in 2021 and LA Wire added her company in the Top 10 Businesses to Watch in 2021.

According to Taylor Grant, a nominee of the Bram Stoker award, “Kali Metis is an exciting and unique new voice in modern fantasy and a writer you need to pay attention to.” Kali Metis a.k.a. Lisa Kastner wrote CURE, a fascinating novel about Luna Auber, who is stunned by her brother’s apparent suicide. She then discovers that aside from leaving her the keys to his apartment, he also got her a trip to Sweden. Per his instructions, Luna explores their family’s unexpected heritage of Birke, an iconic female Viking warrior.

As Luna follows her brother’s lead, she will soon discover that the terrible shakes he suffered from were misdiagnosed. The shaking was, in fact, the early stages of his transformation as a shapeshifter, also known as a Lycanthrope. Her shaking also begins. As a result, Luna will be forced to make a choice that could either transform or destroy the world as she knows it.

“This story blends historical fiction, dark fiction and horror, and magical realism in new and inventive ways,” says the author. “Thoroughly researched, it combines the history of the Birke, the most famous female Viking warrior, with the mythos of Lycanthropes or shapeshifters, with America’s modern-day inner city to create a new world and modern legends, enriching the legendary shape-shifting mythos.”

Award-winning author and HWA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Linda D. Addison praises the well-written novel by Kali. “What if your intuition turned out to be something bigger and supernatural?” writes Linda. “What if your brother’s disease was misinterpreted, and the cure is an ancestral truth that no one wants to speak? Once family secrets are uncovered in Metis’ novel, things ramp up.”

USA Today Bestselling Author and Bram Stoker Award® winner Lee Murray shares why the novel is worth the read, saying the book is “a study of otherness, identity, and belonging in the shape of a high-stakes supernatural adventure.” As Metis continues to write epic novels masterfully, she hopes to captivate the hearts and minds of fans from all ages and walks of life. It’s a title that those who are into horror, fantasy, magical realism, historical fiction, female heroes, and cross-genre stories will love most.
