The onset of the pandemic early last year shook the world. When it reached US shores, the country was in disarray. Cities were flung into lockdowns and businesses were forced to close shop. Some companies were able to recover or thrive, but Yelp data reported that 60% of business closures due to the pandemic are now permanent. Mark and Emily Bold were among those who closed their business permanently. However, they have been able to find their footing through their newest venture in e-commerce with “WYF” or “What’s Your Fantasy?”

Before the pandemic, Mark Bold drove limos and buses and socialized with some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, including musicians, actors, models, and athletes. Mark would often take care of them, consoling them during vulnerable moments. His clients became comfortable with him, often inviting him into their studios. Mark fondly remembers how some agents were rude, while celebrities were friendly.

2020 completely changed things. The area in which Mark was stationed was among those that were hit the hardest. The economy relied on beach resorts, but lockdowns devastated tourism. The local customer base was mainly military personnel. With travel bans and strict military lockdown, Virginia Beach restaurants and bars lost their customer base.

Mark and his wife, Emily, were both in hospitality management, but they suddenly found themselves without their jobs. Emily returned to reduced work, while Mark’s workplace was permanently closed. Like many people, the couple had to cope with the times. They struggled and tried to figure out what they could do to provide for themselves in the new environment. Seizing the opportunities of the digital age, they launched an ecommerce store, focusing on spreading positivity.

Mark dreamed up the conversation starter “What’s Your Fantasy” and tattooed it on the back of his neck. As he and Emily crafted the brand’s logo and name, they realized “What’s Your Fantasy?” would be perfect for everyone. The name is a great conversation starter for creating social interactions, because people are excited to share their fantasies.

WYF or What’s Your Fantasy is an ecommerce brand that sells eye-catching products, including color-changing mugs, stainless steel water bottles, and comfortable apparel. They have crafted quality accessories, such as the fashion statement symbol of 2020 and beyond: the WYF face mask. The brand has something for all settings, including travel, lounging at home, and working. WYF has a product that will keep any customer smiling. Mark and Emily are determined to spark more positivity, social interactions, and conversations with their brand.

The Bolds hope to travel the world, spreading positivity at events, shows, conventions, and festivals. They will take WYF to greater heights and launch coaching services. Mark and Emily plan to sit down with clients for one-on-one talks to let people describe their lives, goals, and fantasies. Additionally, they plan to start a non-profit for those in need of help getting back on track.
