Mark Whitman Winning through Digital Marketing Despite COVID-19 

 

My name is Mark Whitman, I’m the founder of Contentellect. We are a content writing service that specializes in writing SEO blog content for online businesses. 

After completing my Master’s degree at Cambridge University, I spent five years working as a management consultant in London, helping companies like Visa, Microsoft, and Willis streamline their operations. In 2013 I left the corporate world and spent four years working as a digital nomad and developing my affiliate marketing skills, online advertising, dropping shipping, and SEO.As I was traveling, I felt a natural proclivity to the sector, and that is how Mountain IQ was born. Since launching in 2014, we had grown from a humble travel blog into a specialist adventure travel company that helps travelers book trips to some of the world’s most famous mountain destinations. 

In addition to Mountain IQ, we also operate the most popular online guides to Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu and Everest Base Camp. Most recently, Covid hit my adventure travel business hard. With so many global lockdowns and varying regulations for each country, it was just impossible to continue. This left me in a predicament. 

What could I do to keep making money in the midst of a pandemic, where looking for employment in the corporate market was no longer an option. So I started to scale a VA service I had been dabbling in with my partner. He eventually wanted to move on to other things and I saw an opportunity to give him what he wanted by buying him out. 

This gave me my new and present challenge, Contentellect. We are a content writing service that specializes in writing SEO blog content for online businesses. We are fully remote and now boast over 100 contractors from all over the world, from only being operational for just over a year.
