On February 23, 2023, Sauce Media Group hosted an intimate workshop at Hotel Figueroa’s Cafe Fig in Downtown LA, geared toward influencers, brands, social marketers, and anyone interested in social media. Aesthetic lattes were sipped in the circle as attendees heard from Sauce Media’s team: Sam and Talia. The two shared their thoughts on trends and experiences with clients, followed by an open dialogue with the group. Sam shared some key points to growing on social media, including what platforms you need to be on and how to be using those platforms. The workshop came at just the right time for brands preparing for quarter 2 (Q2), helping them determine what strategies will drive sales. 

The key takeaway from the workshop was Sauce Media sharing five tangible, concrete tips for growing on social media right now:

  1. No matter the platform, use all of the features. The platform algorithm cannot work without utilization, as it is a two-way street. An example is to use the question box or stickers on Instagram stories.
  2. Accessibility features are vital. This lets brands be more inclusive and is great for SEO.
  3. Longer form video is on trend now. Now, platforms and brands are competing to grab audience attention after the 7-second mark. Keep the attention of your viewers by adding hooks throughout longer videos.
  4. Get to the point. Intros are out, get right into it. 
  5. Be aware of and utilize outward engagement. Outward engagement is amazing for brand awareness. By incorporating personality into your brand, you set yourself apart from the competition.
