Up Close With the Talented Band Members of Rising Electronic Band LAZYRAVE

LAZYRAVE was born from the unlikely union of frontman Dan Clark and drummer Ben Kindle from the rock and roll band The Kush, along with producer Mark “Clem” Clemmett and tech engineer Pete Cheyne. Together, the four fused their individual styles and experiences together. The band ensures that they produce captivating music without compromising the quality of each of their talents. They strive to create music that plays deep into every rave, every afterparty, and every live show and, every time, never fails to command and uplift the spirit of the cloud.

“We want to create a positive connection with everyone that listens to our music. We don’t stick to a manufactured formula; we try to blend our music across genres drawing from our collective experiences,” the band said.

LAZYRAVE produces a kinetic, atmospheric, evocative, propulsive, grungy, dreamy, and euphoric vibe, an experience that no other band has delivered. The authentic collaboration has definitely brought something fresh to audiences who, in turn, not only celebrate but now live by their lyrics.

Each band member was born with an innate talent and gift for music. Clem learned piano and saxophone as a kid. He bought his first decks and started producing music at 15. Eventually, he gained a residency at a local club and went to university to study engineering, but deep down knew that he was born for a career in music. Following his passion, he worked a season in Ibiza and pumped parties as a DJ. His talent further brought him to many places, including South Korea and Nepal. Clem eventually found his way home and started creating his own tracks until he met Dan and Benny.

Meanwhile, Dan also started his music career as a DJ with a love for all things electronic and an undeniable love for early hip hop. At 20, he joined the rock and roll band The Kush and served as the group’s lyricist for over nine years. Dan toured many parts of the country and the world. Eventually, he pivoted to creating acoustic music. A couple of years later, he met Clem, and the two started talking about collaborating on some tunes. The two ended up creating little electronic tracks that “sounded like a lazy rave track,” marketing the beginning of LAZYRAVE itself.

On the other hand, Benny grew up in a house filled with musical instruments. With his father being a professional musician back in the day, he grew up aspiring to build a name for himself in the music industry. He started playing drums and cheating rhythms early on, eventually finding his way to join The Kush and later on teamed up with Clem to write absolute bangers throughout the pandemic.

Last but not least is Pete, who came from a remote Scottish outpost, born between two choices every Shetlander has: Metalica or AC/DC. Choosing the former, his passion eventually led him to England, until two decades later, he found himself invested in indie, electronic, hip hop, trip-hop, blues, and techno. Like his bandmates, he developed a love for music early on in life, with his family all invested in music. Many of his family members have traveled the world with their traditional folk band. Zooming into the pandemic, Pete had the opportunity to work with his bandmates at LAZYRAVE.

Today, LAZYRAVE has created jaw-dropping tracks that could liven up any environment. As they continue to rise to stardom, one song after another, the band aims to amplify their music to broader audiences and reach music lovers across the globe. Over the next few years, LAZYRAVE will surely be a household name and a staple for any party.
