WRYT The Up-and-Coming Artist Whose Voice Sings for the Silenced and the Oppressed

One of the most inspiring legacies in the music industry is left by individuals with a passion-driven purpose to strive for success. For years, several aspirants have struggled to make their mark across a wide variety of trades, leaving only those truly passionate about translating their vision into action and delivering success in their respective industries. Mychael Wright, whose passion lies in sending across an impactful message, wields the power of music to translate his purpose-driven vision into reality.

As an individual widely known for his distinctive artistry and impressive discography, Mychael Wright is an emerging force who has successfully demonstrated the true power of music. While others bask in the glory of tunes and melodies because of their unrivaled capacity to be a medium for self-expression, powerhouses like Mychael use music to deliver a message that catalyzes change and impacts lives. Better known as WRYT, this rising artist fuses grunge-inspired guitar pieces with incisive social consciousness in order to make a difference across the world.

Before entering the scene with his socially conscious disposition and empowering lyrics, WRYT was a church worship leader who pursued a career in contemporary Christian music. His approach was filled with gospel tunes, which was liked by many believers, leading to the release of his worship-oriented EP entitled Grace. However, in the middle of carving his religious path in music, he experienced a spiritual crisis of conscience, which precipitated an eventual career shift away from his long-time genre. Nevertheless, years down the road, the multifaceted singer and songwriter from Washington, DC, is creating tracks that not only show his faith-driven passion for the craft but also demonstrate his purpose-driven vision of creating a better world through music.

Rebranding himself as the rising artist WRYT, this multifaceted African American go-getter has been dropping songs that amplify his quest to materialize his purpose-driven vision. One of them is entitled “Ivory Tower,” a song that touches on countless stories of political corruption, injustice to the marginalized sector, and more.

“Look at all of those gorgeous buildings built by slaves that will never get credit,” expressed WRYT when he wrote Ivory Tower.

Another song that bites onto other social issues is “Milk and Honey.” This empowering track is a more hypnotic piece, sending messages that tackle racism and ethnic injustice. Through this, WRYT aims not only to spark a conversation about racial discrimination but also to talk about his family’s journey as African Americans in the United States.

“I think of it as a love letter to my family,” shared WRYT. “It is an examination of the reality that many marginalized groups face on a daily basis. While I am focused on my family’s narrative, I think my songs also echo the struggles that many families have gone through,” he added.

With a long list of plans to expand his horizons, WRYT is making his own path towards dominating the industry with his music, with which he hopes to become a source of motivation as he sends powerful messages one track at a time.
