Courtney Hizey on Creating Perfect Photography and her Journey Behind the Lens

Photography is more than just capturing perfect moments through camera lenses; it is the memories of people close to our hearts and events frozen in time. Although the art of photography has evolved over the years, becoming an essential part of everyone’s life, only a few photographers take the time to conceptualize the deeper story behind the camera to bring the pictures and videos to life. Spearheading a dedicated approach in camerawork with exceptional skills, creativity, and innovation is award-winning photographer Courtney Hizey.

Courtney Hizey is an award-winning published photographer, consistently taking the industry by storm and wowing couples and families with her breathtaking, timeless, and creative photographs for over nine years now.

For Courtney, photography is more than just a hobby; it is art infused with love and dedication to excellence. She has lived, traveled, and photographed from the beaches of Florida to the mountains in Georgia and back to her home state of Massachusetts, taking timeless pieces and telling heartfelt stories through photos.

In her photography journey, Courtney has invested thousands in equipment, education, certifications, and more. She is now taking the next milestone in her career with a small team of photographers whom she trained, working with them over the years to represent her brand while enhancing their creativity and skill richly. With her team, Courtney works with babies who are just days old, having trained on safely handling and posing them for photos. She also creates timeless pieces during wedding shots, her knowledge and experience with lighting and compositions resulting in high-quality work that clients highly praise.

Her exceptional skill behind a camera lens has gained many accolades. She has been featured on many occasions in People Magazine, Us Weekly, Twins Magazine, Boston Moms Blog and BasicInvite. She has also made appearances in two Lifetime Television episodes as the show’s main photographer for newborn, family, and wedding photos. In 2020, she received the Best of the Best Photographer Award, and her name was announced by actor and comedian James Corden.

As a creative, photography has always been a significant part of Courtney’s life. Her fascination with the camera and her resolve to make memories as long as she lives fueling her. However, it was not until the birth of her son that she became interested in the technical side of photography.

“I documented his milestones with the camera and became more and more interested in perfecting each photo. I loved what I was doing, and to make a career out of it was a dream come true,” she shared.

In addition to being a photographer par excellence, Courtney Hizey is also a philanthropist at heart with a deep sense of social responsibility. She is known for giving back to her hometown and community through local and national organizations, donating hundreds to thousands every year towards Pediatric Cancer, Miles for Miracles (Boston Children’s hospital), and more.

Her impact as a community leader was well brought to the limelight when she purchased a vintage camper to start using for outdoor photoshoots and eventually a photo booth for events at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic progressed and many businesses folded and permanently closed their doors while reeling from the economic loss, Courtney used the vintage camper to support small businesses, working out a way for them to use it at a no-dollar amount to help boost attendance at their events with its uniqueness.

In the coming years, Courtney Hizey hopes to achieve another milestone and launch a few branches of CHP that are currently in the works while availing the vintage camper Photo Booth to small businesses to help them grow.
