D.R.E.D.It (originally named De’Anthony Glenn) is a musician and entrepreneur whose life story is a story of pain, perseverance and emotional trauma. According to him, life, as he remembered, was always rough, especially growing up in Gilbert Garden (also known as Creek City), Atlanta Ga. Born to two amazing parents, Deon and Roger Glenn, growing up, the struggle was real, and the clashing of his parents in arguments and separation of fights was where Glenn observed and learned to survive and hustle.
Despite all that he has been through, he doesn’t dwell much on his experiences, because according to him, they no longer matter that much to the person he is at the moment. He does not deny that these experiences shaped his growth into who he has become, but the reality of who he is and who he aspires to become has nothing to do with his upbringing. D.R.E.D.It would instead let his music and work, in general, do the talking for him.
De’Anthony Glenn is the founder of D.T.O.E. Recording studio where he helps artists bring music back to life by telling their stories. Noting that there are far too many rappers whose messages are the same and driven by the exact wants and desires, D.T.O.E, stands as a stopgap and helps these artists know that they don’t have to be hard in their music to be heard, the most important thing remains their craft, and it’s originality.
Music is a universal language, and since there is hardly anyone in the world who doesn’t like music, Glenn targets a global listenership. However, the question of preference and genre is a different story. But as far as music goes, Glenn is not resting on his oars as he hopes to reach global relevance in no distant time. His first album titled“Fuk Wid Me” is considered a strategic move from D.R.E.D.It, because in the first track off the album, he introduced the story of his life. According to him, the audience’s ability to relate with the seven minute-long track will determine how far they would listen to the album.
Glenn through D.T.O.E, Recording Studio is trying to help artists understand how big of a voice they really have and help them put their voice to use. Afterall, it’s not enough to put out good melodies, every artist should use their platform to call out and condemn the various ills plaguing their society. On his motivation, “Everything starts with self.” He said. “Seeing my mom struggle and float the family with everything she knew how to do.” He added.
As a musician, D.R.E.D.It bothers himself less about competition, because according to him, “I am me and I am focused on me, and not what the next man’s accomplishments are.” Indeed, Glenn is running his race, and it seems his only competition is time.
D.R.E.D.It doesn’t want to wait for the next five years because he believes any moment from now, his dream of being mentioned and talked about globally could come true. At the same time, D.T.O.E. Recording studio sees the company rising to global relevance and prominence. On a personal level, he’d like to have found five new companies within this timeframe.
