After a year-long silence, the captivating world of Persian percussion comes roaring back to life as the Dafan Band, led by the exceptionally talented Bardia Sadeghi, announces their return with the release of their latest music video, “Majnoon”. This eagerly anticipated project showcases the band’s evolution, international recognition, and seamless blending of traditional Iranian instruments into their innovative sound.

Dafan Band, under the steadfast guidance of Bardia Sadeghi, is a renowned Persian percussion band based in North America. The ensemble first emerged on the scene in 2012 with an official music video featuring only Daf players, deriving their name from the plural form of “Daf”. As time went on, Bardia’s visionary approach led him to incorporate other Iranian percussion instruments, such as the Tombak, Kouzeh, Dhol, Dammaeh, Dayereh, and Cajon, into the band’s distinctive sound.

In 2022, the band received international acclaim by winning the silver medal at the Global Music Awards, a prestigious music competition. Their music videos have since attracted millions of views worldwide, reflecting the band’s continued success and dedication to their craft.

Bardia Sadeghi, an Iranian-Canadian musician, percussionist, and songwriter, began his musical journey at a young age. At just three, he made his debut playing Persian percussion instruments. Since then, he has graced various concert stages and cultural events worldwide. Bardia’s illustrious career includes numerous awards and honors, such as first place at the Tombak Festival in Tehran in 1993 and first place at the Fajr Festival from 1994 to 1997.

Apart from his expertise as a percussionist, Bardia is also an accomplished singer and songwriter. His recent mesmerizing song, “Doroogh”, is just one example of his work in this area. As the founder and leader of the Dafan Band, he arranged numerous popular songs and videos with Iranian percussion for the group, which are available on major music platforms.

Bardia’s passion for music extends to his work as an author. In 2021, he published his first Tonbak book, Amozesh Tonbak Be Revayate Bardia Sadeghi, which offers modern techniques for learning the Iranian percussion instrument, Tonbak, for beginners. He also released five brand new books this year for DAF (beginner to advanced) and other Iranian percussion instruments available for purchase on his website.

The exceptional talents of Bardia Sadeghi earned him widespread recognition and admiration from musicians and music enthusiasts worldwide. With a lineup of accomplished artists, including Reza Sadeghi on Santoor, Rasoul Mahaki on Bass, and a host of Daf, Tombak, Brass, and Dance performers, Dafan Band is poised to once again captivate audiences with their latest release, “Majnoon”.
