PodTV, a Vodcast and OTT Platform, Opening Doors for Content Creators and Enhancing Audience Experience

It’s a content creators’ world. Podcasts are wildly popular, and there are more than two million covering a wide selection of topics for avid listeners to choose from. A video podcast is just the right kind of extra we need to add to our sensory experience. PodTV, the first and only video podcast OTT platform, is expanding podcasting to video experiences and allowing content creators to produce multichannel content.

What is a video podcast?

A video podcast is exactly what it sounds like – a podcast recording with a video element. The purpose of video podcasting is to build upon the audio experience of a traditional podcast. This allows content creators to engage and connect deeper with their audience.

Streaming technology and OTT programming have given us endless options. However, only a few are combining the audio richness of podcasts with the SmartTV ease of streaming television.

“Over the last several years both OTT streaming video and podcasting have exploded,” Jeffrey White, co-founder of PodTV said. “During this explosion, many podcasts have seen successful adaptations to the TV screen…”

This “explosion” has allowed for endless adaptions which cater to audiences’ desire to watch experts debate and break down shows such as Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul episodes.

There is a huge space between traditional media and the hungry new streaming content market that’s filled with podcasters, video podcasters, docu-series, after-the-show programming and OTT partnerships. This allows creators to have more freedom to develop supplemental content, extend stories, and draw in niche viewers in today’s dual-screen environment than ever before.

“We believe strongly in the creator economy. That with continuous technological advances, the historically high barriers to content creation and distribution will be eliminated and put creators in the driver’s seat,” White continued.

“Our platform provides the opportunity for those developing great content to own, distribute and monetize their content which gives them the control and share of profits…”

Recently, PodTV launched Pro Wrestling TV (PWTV), a streaming and on-demand network linear channel that’s focused solely on pro-wrestling content. The new network provides its audience with non-stop curated content which includes talk shows, documentaries, feature films and multiple wrestling promotions.

PodTV is transforming this concept of the audio-rich vehicle made visual, making it complete for streaming and generating more opportunities for audiences and content creators. This concept is still new to the industry as many broadcast and streaming platforms work to integrate dual-screen content and extended conversations into their programming and PodTV is proving it enhances both creator and viewer experience.

Check out their library of content here with some notable feature shows including Underboss “Sammy The Bull” — hosted by Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano, a former mobster who became underboss of the notorious Gambino crime family.
