Cupertino, CA – March 2025 – Imagine walking into a dessert shop and feeling like you’ve entered an art-forward retail space—except instead of framed masterpieces, you’re greeted by glowing jars of coconut jelly. That’s the atmosphere Coosi Studio, a creative branding and spatial design agency, has crafted for Melo Melo’s flagship store in Cupertino. Located at 19652 Stevens Creek Blvd, this project represents a thoughtful combination of aesthetics, innovation, and—you guessed it—dessert.
A Bold Idea That Found Its Footing
When Melo Melo founder Bella Wang approached Coosi Studio’s design lead Cooper Dai in 2024, she presented a uniquely ambitious proposition: “Hey, want to design our flagship store? Oh, and by the way, it’s outside of L.A., so… road trip?” At first, Cooper was uncertain—exploring new geographic markets can bring unpredictable challenges. But after a short conversation (and maybe some strong coffee), the team decided to go for it, excited by the chance to rethink what a dessert shop could look like.
Bella Wang, a longtime friend of Cooper, had strong confidence in his creative instincts. To demonstrate that commitment, he returned early from a business trip in Hong Kong to personally oversee aspects of the project. To ensure a high level of quality, he tapped his trusted A-team, including rising designer Serena Sun, an Art Center College of Design alum known for translating unconventional ideas into practical designs.
The Melo Gallery: A Visual Anchor
At the core of Coosi Studio’s vision is the Melo Gallery—a floor-to-ceiling illuminated wall showcasing Melo Melo’s signature coconut jelly jars. The concept blends elements of luxury retail display with playful nods to dessert culture. Bella was initially uncertain. “Are we really dedicating an entire wall to jars of jelly?” she asked. But the design team held steady, believing this visual element could strengthen the store’s brand identity. The resulting display has attracted social media attention and sparked customer curiosity.
“We’re not just designing a dessert shop,” says Cooper Dai. “We’re aiming to build a space people remember. If guests feel compelled to take photos or share their visit, we know we’ve done something right.”
A Fresh Take on the “Desert Oasis”
The store’s guiding theme, “Desert Oasis,” brings together storytelling, visual design, and branding. On the left side, the Melo Gallery adds radiance, while the right features a mirrored LED-lit panel that provides a sleek, modern contrast. The floor is finished with matte white salt plate tiles, creating a clean, grounded ambiance. The cashier station maintains Melo Melo’s signature pink palette, with carefully designed shelving for product displays.

Dessert Spaces—Reimagined
The early feedback? Encouraging. “Cooper, with your team’s design sensibilities and our construction work, we’ve built something that feels really special,” said Bella, Owner of Melo Melo.
Even before the official launch, local buzz began to build. Passersby shared photos, and the store’s aesthetic started making its way online. Due to this momentum, Melo Melo has initiated plans for Coosi Studio to contribute to upcoming locations in Southern California.

With its emphasis on quality coconut desserts, carefully developed design, and a retail space that encourages visual engagement, Melo Melo Cupertino is carving out its own lane. As Coosi Studio puts it: “We strive to design desert environments that invite exploration and inspire connection.”
