Marc Anthony is a two-time Emmy Award-winning Filipino producer who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. With his extensive years of experience, he has helped produce renowned talk shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tyra Banks Show, and The Kelly Clarkson Show. His talent has also been instrumental in casting on-air personalities for networks such as NBC, CBS, MTV, FOX, Bravo, and Facebook Watch, among others.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Marc Anthony comes from humble beginnings. His mother was a bank teller, and his father was a truck driver. Despite their modest lifestyle, his parents instilled in him the value of hard work and the importance of pursuing his dreams. Anthony recalls, ‘“I remember asking my mom at the end of a television show, “Why are their names after the show?” She replied, ‘Those are the people that helped create the show.’ And then I exclaimed, ‘Mom, my name is going to be at the end of a show one day. You wait and see!’ Now, I still get flashbacks of that moment with my mom whenever I see my name at the end credits of TV shows that I produced.”’
His passion for television and production kept him motivated. At the age of seven, he was already captivated by television and had a keen eye for set design, lighting, and dialogue. Marc Anthony explains, “We didn’t grow up with a lot. I promised myself that I needed to work hard to make my dreams come true. I followed my passion. When my mom passed away from cancer over a decade ago, it made me realize that I need to live in the now.”
Getting his foot in the door of the industry was one of Marc Anthony’s most significant challenges. He sent his resume to every television show and network, but rejection was a constant obstacle. However, he remained undeterred, believing that rejection was merely redirection. It was only a matter of time before he found the one opportunity that opened the floodgates to his career.
His tenacious personality and relentless optimism led him to a job as a PA on a TV show. His work ethic and passion quickly spread, and he soon found himself working as a producer on several popular TV shows. Marc Anthony believes that anyone with a dream can reach these heights of success. All it takes is the courage to speak your dreams into existence and share them with others.
Despite his success, Marc Anthony never forgets his roots. He takes inspiration from his life and the people around him, always striving to improve himself and help others along the way. His work has been recognized by the Asian Hall of Fame and the “100 Most Influential Filipino Americans” list, making him a source of inspiration for many.
In addition to his work in producing and casting, Marc Anthony has his show, “The On Your Marc Show.” The show features mainstream celebrities such as Vivica Fox, Lance Bass, Sharon Osbourne, and many more. His show serves as a platform to showcase his talents and creativity while providing a space for celebrities to share their stories and connect with their fans.
Marc Anthony uses his own example, saying that if he hadn’t spoken up to his coworker at the restaurant about his interest in working on TV, he would have missed out on a great opportunity. He encourages individuals to express their dreams and to trust that everything will fall into place.
