Multi-Award winning International Composer Randy Edelman releases his 11 track album “Waltzing On A High Wire” via Tribeca Records on Friday September 6, 2024. The record which he admits is very personal to him is a collection of songs challenging a diverse and multiple fashion of musical genres. “Waltzing On A High Wire” fortifies the echo chamber of his success and continues to earn him the respect that will outlast all of our mortal coils.
While much of today’s music can seem like smoke and mirrors and has bluffed its way to the peak, Randy’s musical sensibility is filled with vision and value as opposed to validation. There is an authentic swagger to the songs on this album , better melodies, more sensitive lyrics, and genuine musicianship… not just software loops, auto-tuned vocals and regurgitated samples. The instrumentals and Randy’s production on the LP are far from an illusion. This record has spawned a cascade of songs with a sense of intimacy and emotional connections for its listeners because both the ecstasy and the torments he explores are universal.
Courage doesn’t always roar except in the song “Any Conventional Means.” “Never The Hunter/Lullaby For A Special Friend” is blessed with a clear and rounded tone which retains its warmth at explosive climactic points and is a beautiful example of flawless pianism. Vivid and poetic lyrics from “Going Through The Motions” make you want to disappear in mid-air.” “Waltzing On A High Wire” evokes potent emotions and poetic imagery throughout the album with an abundance of color and texture tugging at your heartstrings.
As a captain in the industry. Randy has built his empire on solid rock, not just on the surface but in essence… having been responsible for writing over 100 television and film scores (My Cousin Vinny, The Bruce Lee Story, Ghostbusters ll, Billy Madison, Gettysburg, The Mask, Last of the Mohicans, MacGyver, the Olympics and themes for NASA and myriads of others). As music royalty many of Randy’s popular songs are continuously listened to and enjoyed by large numbers of people including “A Weekend in New England” (Barry Manilow), Isn’t it a Shame (Patti LaBelle), “My Place” (Nelly), or “You” (The Carpenters), proof of his constant and relentless pursuit of true excellence. The legacy you leave for mankind is what speaks the loudest….
If you want to make music a matter of life and death, to feel it from the inside of drama and passion where notes and poetry unite “Waltzing On A High Wire” will be available worldwide on all digital platforms.
